At Temiskaming Thunder, we understand that the cost of rep basketball can be a significant consideration for families. Our registration fees typically range from $650 to $700 per athlete, per season, and help cover Ontario Basketball Association fees, tournament registrations, equipment, insurance, and other costs associated with running our rep program.

We are incredibly grateful for the support of our local sponsors. Without them, we simply would not be able to offer the level of programming and opportunities we provide to our athletes. Their generosity allows us to keep our registration fees among the lowest for OBA rep basketball programs in Ontario, while continuing to create an experience we are proud of.

Their support also allows us to go beyond simply covering the cost of basketball. Our rep athletes receive player swag kits that include gear from brands such as lululemon and Under Armour, helping ensure that every athlete has the same experience and feels equally part of the team, regardless of their family's financial position.

Through the generosity of some of our community partners, we have also been able to establish player grant and financial assistance opportunities to help reduce barriers for athletes and families who may need additional support. We also connect families with external funding programs and resources, with links available on our website. Families are always welcome to contact us directly if they need help navigating these options.

It is important for families to know that rep basketball does come with additional expenses outside of registration, including travel, accommodations, and meals for away tournaments and games. While these costs are not included in registration, we do our best to communicate schedules and anticipated travel requirements as early as possible so families can plan accordingly.

Accessibility also means reducing the burden of participation wherever we can. We host practices in both Englehart and New Liskeard, allowing athletes from across our region to participate without requiring every family to travel to the same community for every practice.
